The Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC has called on State Governments to be prompt in releasing intending pilgrims to enable the Commission carry out proper screening for this year’s pilgrimage to Israel, Greece and Rome.
The Executive Secretary of the Commission, Reverend Yakubu Pam who made the call while inspecting facilities at the Nnamidi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja said the measure would also enable the Commission take necessary precautions to check abscondment in the Holy Land.
While commending the support received from the management of the airport in previous exercises, Reverend Yakubu Pam said the Commission would abide by laid down rules as well as the Covid 19 protocols for the success of the exercise.
The NCPC boss assured Nigerians that the Commission would ensure that only Christains yearning for spiritual upliftment would be allowed to participate in the pilgrimage.
The Regional Manager of the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport Abuja, Mr Mohammed Sanni Maintained that the management would not allow any intending pilgrim without evidence of Covid 19 test to participate in the exercise.
Mr Sanni reiterated his management’s readiness to provide the required support to NCPC and respect the rights of all intending pilgrims.
