The Nigerian Association of Women Entrepreneurs has expressed concern over the negative effects of insecurity and Covid 19 pandemic on Agriculture and other commercial activities involving women in the country.
President of the Association Mrs Vera Ndanusa who made this known while addressing newsmen in Abuja said women could no longer engage meaningfully in farming due to the activities of insugents, kidnappers and inadequate incentives to enhance their Economic Status.
While commending the Federal Government for its programs on Economic Growth, Mrs Vera Ndanusa said most of the women in the rural areas were not benefiting enough.
She however called on the Federal Government to create a monitoring team to ensure that its economic policies bear direct impact on women.
The NAWE President further stressed the need for the present administration to involve more women in governance and collaborate with relevant Associations in providing capacity building on modern technology in agriculture.
Mrs Ndanusa reiterated the association’s readiness to embark on sezititsation campaign to reawaken women to their responsibilities in nation building.
