NASU & SSANU Begins 3 Days Nationwide Protest

University workers under the aegis of Joint Action Committee, JAC, of the Non Academic Staff Union, NASU, and the Senior Staff Association of Nig Universities, SSANU, have begun a 3 days Protest

It listed issues such as inconsistencies in IPPIS payments, non payment of arrears of new minimum wage, delay in the renegotiation of the FG/NASU/ SSANU 2009 Agreement

The secretary Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities Abuja branch Com Nurudeen Yusuf expressed regret over government’s inability to honor the agreement they had with the union.

The National President Non Academic Staff Union, Comrade Makolo Hassan said an alternative to IPPIS which is the university Peculiar personal payroll system ( UPPPS ) had been created to cover all university payments.

The protest will continue for 3 days after which they will proceed on an indefinite strike if their demands are not met.
