Nassarawa State Earmarks Over ₦112b For 2021 Budget

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has proposed one hundred and twelve point nine billion Naira to the State House of Assembly as 2021 Appropriation Bill.

Presenting the Estimate in the chamber of the State House of Assembly Complex in Lafia, Governor Abdullahi Sule said the 2021 Budget is tagged “Budget of Economic Recuperation.”

According to Governor Abdullahi Sule, fifty one Billion, fifty million, four hundred and fifty eight thousand eight hundred and seventeen Naira is for recurrent expenditure while fifty four billion, eight hundred and fifty four million nine hundred and eighty five Naira is for capital expenditure.

The Governor while giving a breakdown of the budget stated that over thirty five billion naira representing over thirty one percent of the Appropriation Bill was earmarked to the Education Sector.

He also noted that workers welfare and implementation of the National Minimum Wage, addressing insecurity had been given adequate attention in the 2021 budget proposal.

Governor Abdullahi Sule however maintained that his administration would continue to uphold the principle of accountability, transparency and prudent management of the state’s resources for the common good of the people.

Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr Ibrahim Balarabe who commended the governor for his painstaking and timely presentation of the 2021 Appropriation Bill said the House would give adequate attention to the bill to ensure speedy passage.
