1,050 small scale farmers in Nasarawa State have benefitted from farm inputs under the federal government Value Chain Development Programme for the 2021 farming season.
Coordinator, Value Chain Development Programme, Dr. Eunice Adigidzi stated this at the flag off of distribution of farm inputs in Lafia the Nasarawa State capital.
Dr. Eunice Adigidzi who explained that the initiative was to boost rice and cassava production said the benefitting farmers were from sixty four farmers cooperative Organizatiins from Doma, Wamba, Lafia, Nasarawa and Karu local government areas of the state.
She noted that cooperative organizations under the Value Chain Development Programme had recorded remarkable success in rice and cassava production since commencement of the Programme in 2020.
Farm inputs distributed include improved rice and cassava seeds, herbicides, 108,800 kg of NPK and Urea fertilizer.
