Nassarawa Govt Develops New App For Residents To Report Security Threats

Nasarawa State Government has developed a new Application for quick detection and reporting of early warning signs of security threats to security agencies for rapid response.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Non – Governmental Organizations and Development Partners, Mrs Munirat Abdullahi stated this at a one day training for stakeholders in Lafia.

Mrs Abdullahi said the initiative was aimed at checking conflicts such as farmers and herders and tracking criminal activities in the communities using the information and Communication technology.

She pointed out that the new Website also has a mobile application where residents of the state especially in rural communities can easily report early warning signs and other security threats in their areas to security agencies for immediate action.

Mrs Abdullahi stated that the training was to expose participants to the new website and adopt a simplified way of handling the device .

Participants at the training were drawn from the Nigerian Correctional Service, the police, the Army, NSCDC, FRSC, the local vigilante among others.
