The National Assembly says it is committed to addressing all issues raised during the EndSARS protest especially on unemployment.
The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, stated this during the 2021 budget defence of the Ministry of Agriculture at the National Assembly.
The Senate President gave the assurance that government would not relent on the implementation of the 2021 budget so as to create job opportunities for youths.
In a remark, the Chairman Joint Committee on Agriculture, Senator, Abdullahi Adamu said that for the Country to fully diversify and stop the over dependence on crude, 10% of the annual budget must be appropriated to the agricultural sector.
He said the budget estimate of N179.4 billion which according to him is grossly inadequate, represents only 2% of the N13 trillion earmarked for the 2021 Appropriation Bill.
In his presentation, the Minister of Agriculture, Sabo Nanono, told the committee that despite the natural disaster and other obstacles, the sector recorded tremendous growth compared to other sectors of the economy.
