The Federal Government has been urged to fasttrack implementation of programmes that will boost youths empowerment in the Country.
The South West Caucus of the National Assembly made the call while addressing newsmen in Abuja on the ENDSARS protests and violence recorded in different parts of the Country.
According to the Chairman of the Caucus, Member Representing Boluwaduro Ifedayo Illa Federal Constituency of Osun State Femi Fakaye,said this would go a long way in reducing youths’ restiveness in the Country.
The caucus while condemning the violence resulting from hoodlums hijacking peaceful protests also warned ‘miscreants’ not to turn the South/West region into a battleground.
On the issue of the attack on the Oba of Lagos Palace, the Lawmakers who condemned the act in its entirety described it as an act of desecration of the cultural heritage of the South-West.
The caucus while commiserating with the families of those who lost their lives also endorsed the proposal to pay compensation to all victims of SARS brutality
