Nasarawa State Government has expressed commitment towards providing the State Independent Electoral Commission the needed support to ensure free, fair and credible Local Government election in the state.
Governor Abdullahi Sule stated this at the opening of a two day training workshop for staff of the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission, NASIEC in Lafia.
The Governor, represented by the Deputy Governor Dr Emmanuel Akabe stated that the State Government would continue to provide a level playing field to enhance the independence of the electoral body as according to him, a peaceful society is achieved when all the principles of democracy are adhered to.
Chairman Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission, Mr Ayuba Wandai said the training was to expose staff of the commission on ways to conduct free, fair and credible election.
While pointing out that the training would focus on Information and Communication Technology as well as voter education, Mr Ayuba Wandai stated that the commission would adopt transparency, fairness and objectivity in conducting the forthcoming Local Government election.
