In continuation of its familiarization tour and inspection of Hajj Projects, the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, and his delegation were at the Usman Katsina House and Zazzau Emirate in Kaduna today.
During discussions, the Chairman, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan told Governor Nasir El-rufai that the board had introduced the Hajj Savings Scheme, the Hajj Training Institute, and intends to negotiate reduction of days spent during Hajj. Alhaji Zikrullah also informed the State Governor of the Commission’s plan to open an outreach office in Kaduna to facilitate its operations in the State.
The move he said became necessary to ease management of Hajj affairs due to the large number of contingents to Hajj from Kaduna.
Representing the Kaduna State Governor, the Secretary to the State Government, Mallam Balarabe Abbas Lawal assured the Chairman of Government’s support for all his initiatives. At the palace of the Emir of Zazzau the monarch congratulated the Chairman on his appointment and prayed for the success of the new board. He also commended the Federal Government for its choice of such a formidable team.
