Muslims in Kogi State have been advised to imbibe the virtue of sacrifice as exhibited by Prophet Ibrahim.
Chief Imam of Agassa Mallam Suleiman Salihu gave the advice after leading the two Raka’at Eid prayers at the Agassa Eid praying ground.
Mallam Suleiman who said the Sacrifice of animals for Eid el Adha was significant advised Muslims to have sincerity of intention to fully attain the reward of the period.
The Imam prayed for unity of the country and enjoined followers to remain peaceful.
In an interview, the Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello felicitated with the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid and urged them to key into various programmes of the Federal and State governments to be self sufficient.
The Governor also encouraged residents to be vigilant as Government would continue to prioritize security towards safeguarding lives and property.
Alhaji Bello further enjoined the people to abide by COVID19 protocols aimed at curbing the spread of the disease.
