Minister Of Mines Harps On Diversification of Economy

The Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Mr. Olamilekan Adegbite says diversification of the nation’s economy from oil will greatly enhance the development of the solid minerals sector.

He made this known during the presentation of a book titled “Fundamentals for Exploring the Mining Sector”, written by Deinsam Dan Ogan, in Abuja.

Mr. Olamilekan explained that the book would enhance the knowledge of the mining sector to boost the economy growth of the nation.

“Having your ideas put on paper to come out with a book that is aimed at enhancing the knowledge about the sector in this way is a bold step that must be commended”

“I recommend the book for everyone who has mining at heart,” he said.

Earlier in his opening remarks, the Minister of State, Dr Uchechukwu Ogah who said the literature wouldn’t have come at a better time than now that government is in the process of diversifying the economy away from oil through the mining sector, congratulated the author.

Speaking to newsmen after the presentation, Mr. Deinsam Dan Ogan, said, “The book has been crafted in the way that it will attract investors, especially from the international community; that is why it is online for any one to download freely.”

Mr. Dan- Ogan, 39, a geologist by profession, joined the Civil Service after receiving the nation’s gratitude as a national awardee with a Presidential handshake in recognition of his outstanding performance during his NYSC service year, and has been with the Mining Cadastre Office under the ministry.
