Magistrate Court Grants Bail To Sowore

A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Abuja has granted bail to the convener of Revolution Now, Mr Omoyele Sowore and four others standing trial for alleged unlawful assembly, criminal conspiracy and inciting public disturbance.

Ruling on the bail application filed on behalf of the defendants, Chief Magistrate Mabel Segun-Bello admitted Mr sowore to bail in the sum of twenty million naira and two sureties in like sum.

The Court also ordered Mr Sowore to remain in Abuja and must physically report to the court registrar every Monday and Friday pending the hearing and determination of the case against him.

The Court further ordered that one of his sureties must be a civil servant not below grade level 12.

Speaking with journalists, Counsel to the defendants Mr. Marshal Abubakar said he was not satisfied with the bail conditions.

The four other defendants were also granted bail in the sum of one million naira and one surety in like sum.
