Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, Nasarawa State has constituted security committees to find lasting solution to the lingering crises between Farmers and Herders in the State.
Chairman of the Association in the State, Alhaji Muhammad Hussaini stated this in Keana at the end of an emergency meeting with the Fulani Community from Nasarawa South Senatorial District.
Alhaji Muhammad Hussaini said the increasing rate of insecurity following incessant attacks and counter attacks between farmers and fulani herders especially around border Communities of Benue and Nasarawa States have become worrisome considering the human and material loss.
He stated that the committees comprising 10 members from Awe,Obi, Doma and Keana Local Government Areas would work closely with farmers and herders in the border areas of the two states to identify the causes of the clashes and proffer lasting solution.
North Central Zonal Chairman Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, Alhaji Danladi Ciroma urged all Fulani community leaders to intensify collaboration with security agencies to fish out bad elements among them.
He called on Fulani youths to desist from taking laws into their hands at the slightest provocation.
The meeting had in attendance representatives from the Army, the Police and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
