LG Election: Emir of Kano Calls For Violence Free Excercise

The Emir of Kano Alh Aminu Ado Bayero has called on the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission(KANSEIC) to ensure the conduct of violence free elections in the forthcoming Local Government election in the State.

The Emir stated this when he received the Chairman of KANSEIC and his management team at his Palace.

Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero said the State being one of the leading States in the practice of democracy nationwide needed to set example through conduct of free,fair and violence free election.

He charged the management of KANSEIC to make adequate utilization of experienced personnel aimed at achieving successful conduct of the election.

Earlier, KANSEIC Chairman , Professor Garba Ibrahim Sheka said they were at the Palace to intimate the Emir on the Commission’s preparation for the forthcoming Local Government polls and to seek for his Royal blessing as his palace was the first point of call in activities lined up for the exercise.

Prof Sheka maintained that the Commission had fixed 16th January, 2020 for the election.

He appealed to Kano Residents to redouble efforts in praying for the peaceful conduct of the Election.
