Government at all levels have been urged to grant the demand for financial autonomy by the Judiciary to end its ongoing strike.
Solicitor of the Supreme Court, Chukwudi Ezeobika made the call while featuring on “Politics Today” a Kapital FM Current Affairs Programme in Abuja.
According to Mr Ezeobika support for the financial autonomy by State governments would avert the multiple effects of the current strike action on the nation.
He commended the Federal government for steps taken so far towards resolving the lingering strike.
The Solicitor of the Supreme Court who explained that the strike was triggered by state governments who altered the agreement reached by the Federal government.
He therefore stressed that it is time for all concerned to make sure that the issue is resolved once and for all.
Mr. Ezeobika who described the strike action by JUSUN as unfortunate said it portends great danger for the nation’s democracy.
He expressed regret that the strike shut down the nation’s judicial system as nothing is working presently in the country.
Mr Ezeobika therefore called on both the Federal government and JUSUN to come to an agreement that will put an end to the industrial action for the growth of democracy in Nigeria.
