A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Proffessor Dakas Clement-Dakas has called for improved funding for security agencies and better management of the resources allocated to them.
Speaking with Journlists in Jos, Professor Dakas stressed the need for better training for security Agencies as well as Intelligence-driven security enforcement, leveraging on technology such as drones , CCTVs and trackers among others.
He called for Synergy between security agencies and the citizens,
Inter-agency collaboration, Robust prosecution of suspects as well as stemming impunity through accountability.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria advised the media not to become a weapon of mass destruction and called for the responsible use of both the conventional and social media.
He called on politicians and religious leaders to refrain from playing politics with security and ensure that there is no manipulation of religion, ethnicity and other sectional fault lines.
Professor Dakas charged Government to address issues of poverty and unemployment, which he said are drivers of insecurity in the country.
He emphasized the need for total compliance with human rights and humanitarian law, to earn the trust and confidence of the citizens.
