Lawmaker Raises Alarm Over Incessant Attacks On Yauri, Kebbi State

The Federal Government has been urged to urgently deploy more security personnel to Yauri, Kebbi State to safeguard the lives and property of the people.

Member Representing Yauri/Sanga/Ngaski Federal Constituency of Kebbi State Yusuf Tanko-Sununu made the call while addressing newsmen in Abuja.

The lawmaker who expressed concern over the incessant attacks on his constituency by bandits, said the attacks on the area on Thursday left thousands of people displaced with property worth millions of naira carted away.

The Lawmaker further explained that several teachers and students of the Federal Government College, Birnin Yauril in Kebbi state were abducted and taken to unknown destination during the attack.

Tanko-Sununu who is the Chairman House Committee on Health Services while urging the Executive to implement the recommendations of the National Security Summit organised by the House said the situation if not checked would lead to food insecurity in the Country.

The lawmaker also emphasized the need for more synergy. among security agencies and support from the Nigerians to curb the menace.
