The Senator representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District, Abdullahi Adamu has described as “wishful thinking” clamours for zoning of political offices ahead of the 2023 general election.

He stated this during an interactive with news men in Abuja .

Adamu noted that the calls for zoning of political offices was unconstitutional, and would not produce the best candidate for the country.

On the issue of open grazing, the lawmaker who is Chairman Senate Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, kicked against the proposed ban of open grazing by the Southern Governors.

“I believe as governors, operating in a different tiers of government, they have a constitutional responsibility.

“One of the fundamental provisions is that every Nigerian without exception has a right to free movement to pursue legitimate business without hindrance. It is enshrined in the Constitution.” he said.

However, he said that the duty to protect the herdsmen and the farmers rested squarely on the table of the national, state and local governments.
