The Federal Government has been called upon to redeem the ten billion naira pledge to victims of attacks in Riyom and Barikin Ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau in 2018 where over 300 people lost their lives.
Member representing Riyom / Barikin Ladi Federal Constituency, Simon Mwadkwom- Fyet who stated this while interacting with Journalists in Jos said most of the displaced persons are still at IDP camps while others are staying with relations.
Representative Mwadkwom-fyet said even the promise of a mobile barracks in the area has not been redeemed, leaving the people at the mercy of their attackers.
He expressed regret that in most cases the perpetrators of such killings are not apprehended and when they are, they are not persecuted.
He was also of the opinion that the Presidency should be rotated as every part of the country has contributed in one way or the other to the development of the Country.
On the division of his party, the PDP in the State, Mwadkwom-Fyet noted that disagreements among party members was only natural and expressed confidence that the party would win the Plateau South Senatorial District election scheduled for October 31st.
On the water resources bill, the member maintained that it won’t see the light of day as land matters belong to the States and not the Federal Government.
