Nigeria Labour Congress, Nasarawa State Chapter says it will not hesitate to resume strike if the State Government fails to implement fully the agreement it signed with the organized labour recently.
Chairman of NLC in the state, Comrade Yusuf Iya stated this at the opening of delegate conference of the state branch of Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria in Lafia the Nasarawa State capital.
According to Comrade Yusuf Iya, the state government had promised to commence immediate payment of the last tranche of August 2016 salary arrears but more than one week after suspension of the strike, that part of the agreement had not been honoured by the government.
He called on the state government to also ensure implementation and payment of annual salary increment of workers without further delay as part of steps towards reciprocating the sacrifice, patience and understanding the organized labour had shown over the years.
Comrade Yusuf Iya maintained that the only way to guarantee industrial harrmony and robust productivity is for the state government to live up to expectations especially paying attention to workers welfare.
Nasarawa State Head of Civil Service Mr. Abari Aboki, represented by Permanent Secretary Labour in the office of the Head of Service Ms. Abigail Waya said the state government would not relent in its efforts to fulfill all promises made to the organized labour.
