Kogi State Speaker wants Nigerians to imbibe virtue of Sacrifice for a better nation

The Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Matthew Kolawole, has felicitated with Muslims in the State and Nigeria at large on this year’s Edi-El- Kabir celebration,

In a statement by his chief press secretary, Femi Ogungbemi in Lokoja, the speaker urged them to use the occasion to pray for the prosperity of both the State and the nation.

The statement which says Eid-el Kabir is an important occasion for Muslim faithfuls urged them to remember the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim made in obedience to the will of God.

He enjoined all Nigerians irrespective of their faith to imbibe the virtue of sacrifice to build a nation that everyone can be proud off.

The statement also urges Muslims to use the festive period to pray for the peace and development of the state and country at large especially to overcome the COVID 19 pandemic bedevilling the world at this time.

It calls on well-meaning individuals and corporate organizations to reach out to the less privileged in the society.

It further charges them to adhere strictly to the rules of keeping  social distance of at least two meters, washing of hands with soap, sanitizing of hands regularly, promoting personal hygiene and wearing of masks to mitigate the spread of Coronavirus.
