The bill which suffered rejection many times was at plenary, considered side by side with the education report.
The bill among other recommendations provides that a student would study two other major languages along side his or her mother tongue.
Speaking to the press corps after the passage of the education bill, Chairman House Committee on Education, Science and Technology and member representing Dekina/Biraidu constituency, Idoko Moses Ododo, commended the lawmakers for the passage of the bill.
He said the bill when assented to by Governor Yahaya Bello would reposition the education sector for effective service delivery.
He maintained that the law would regulate both public and private schools by ensuring that standards were maintained.
