Kogi State Begins Administration Of 2nd Jab Of Covid 19 Vaccine

Kogi State Government has commenced administration of the second jab of Astra Zeneca vaccine on residents against covid nineteen.

The exercise which began across the state is recording large turnout of people.

Those who spoke to our Correspondent described the exercise as a welcomed development stressing the need to sustain the vaccination.

Speaking with some front line workers and journalists with, , Ali Atabo and Emmanuel Oluwakorede described the vaccine as safe with no side effects urging those yet to be vaccinated to take an advantage of the ongoing exercise.

Speaking on the journey so far, the Executive Director, National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Doctor Abubakar Yakubu explained that the State received for the first batch forty three thousand, nine hundred doses of the vaccines representing four thousand, three hundred and ninety viles and administered thirty one thousand, nine hundred and sixty doses to twenty six thousand, six hundred and sixty five persons across the state.

According to him the State recorded one hundred and two percent of the targeted population as only fourteen percent wastage was recorded.

He stressed that Kogi State adopted the best practices to achieve significant result of administering the vaccines across the state.

He appealed to the people to continue to give maximum support to the health workers on the field for quick and efficient hitch free exercise.
