The people of Kogi State have been charged to continue to pray for their leaders especially Governor Yahaya Bello.
The Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja gave the charge at the thanksgiving service of Governor Bello on his 46th birthday at the Government House Chapel, Lokoja.
Chief Onoja said the Governor has done creditably well in the governance of the State in the area of security, unity of diverse ethnic and religious bodies as well as job creation.
The Deputy Governor led all political appointees in a prayer of thanksgiving and continued protection over the Governor, his household, and the State at large.
Also speaking, the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Mrs Folashade Arike Ayoade described the Governor as gender sensitive and youth friendly who has empowered women across the State.
The SSG attributed the relative peace in the State to the determination of the Governor to give criminal elements no breathing space to operate in the State.
She said the Governor’s forty sixth birthday was also a time of stock taking of infrastructural development in the state.
In his sermon at the occasion the guest preacher, Alhassan Ameh said that God delights in thanksgiving from his creation at all times.
In their separate remarks at the occasion, the Deputy Chief of staff, James Faleke, Kogi Sate Security Adviser, rtd Commander Jerry Omodara, Kogi State Head of Civil Service, Hannah Odiyo and Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, David Apeh all extolled the sterling qualities of the Governor and expressed appreciation to God for his mercies over him in the past forty six years of his life.
Highlights of the occasion were presentation of songs by various guest artistes.
