Kogi State judiciary is to digitalize its operations towards speedy dispensation of cases.
The Acting Chief Judge, Justice Henry Olusiyi stated this while addressing newsmen in Lokoja as part of preparation towards its legal year.
Justice Olusiyi said the procedure when completed would enable processing of public file cases online and seamless adjudication of justice.
He said the judiciary was also in partnership with the Nigerian Correctional Service to decongest the facilities across the State.
According to him criminal cases would be given expeditious hearing as well as civil cases as part of the Reforms in the State judiciary.
He restated the commitment of the judiciary to sustain its relationship with the media and promised unfettered access to information in the course of carrying out thier assignment in Courts across the State.
The Acting Chief Judge described the Media as an Ombudsman between the Government and the governed as its role cannot be underrated hence the need for fair and balanced reportage of events.
He commended the State Government for its non interference in the activities of the judicial arm and promised the readiness to partner other arms of Government
