Kogi Judiciary Takes Step To Provide Affordable Housing For Staff

The Kogi State Judiciary has Inaugurated a ten-man Committee to liaise with the Federal Mortgage Bank towards provision of affordable houses for its staff.

The State Acting Chief Judge, Justice Henry Olusiyi Inaugurated the Committee at the High Court complex in Lokoja.

Justice Olusiyi said the committee should also synergise with the National Housing Fund scheme and Courts to achieve
set goals.

According to him, housing is part of the constitutional provision for judiciary staff to perform thier duties optimally.

He charged members to, within four weeks make enquires on how staff of the state judiciary can benefit maximally from the National Housing Fund scheme, and also find out what is obtainable in other states among other terms of reference.

Speaking on behalf of the committee members, the Chief Registrar, Mr Bamidele Aina expressed appreciation to the Acting Chief Judge for inaugurating the Committee and promised that the assignment would be carried out juditiously.
