Kogi Judiciary Holds Valedictory Session For Retired And Deceased Judicial Officers

A special Court and Valedictory Session has been held in honour of deceased and retired judicial officers of the Kogi State Judiciary in Lokoja.

Speaking at the occasion,the State Acting Chief Judge, Justice Henry Olusiyi said the retired judges from the Sharia Court and Customary Courts are men of unequalled character who served meritoriously in the State
judiciary.

Justice Olusiyi while commending them for their selfless service prayed for long life and prosperity in retirement.

On the deceased judges, the Acting Chief Judge said the State Judiciary was pained by the death and prayed God to grant the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss.

In their separate remarks, Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Rabanat Lawal and Abdullahi Aliu who
spoke about the late Justice Nasiru Ajanah, Pius Akubo, SAN, who spoke about Late justice Atadoga Shaibu and Sam Owoyomi who spoke about Justice Zaccheaus Owonibi described them as incorruptible judges and a rare gift to the State Judiciary whose wealth of experience would be missed in the judiciary.

Speaking, Retired Grand Khadi Suleiman Olorunfemi, Grand Khadi Zakariya Muhammad and Justice Elias Egwu all expressed appreciation to God and the State Judiciary for the privilege and opportunity to serve. Khadi Zakariya Muhammad appealed to the State government to pay the retired judges thier gratuities to enable them meet thier financial obligations in retirement.
