Kogi Govt To Partner Defence Information On Security Reportage

The Kogi State Government is to partner the Armed forces Defense Information unit in ensuring adequate reportage of security and defence issues in the State.

This is contained in a statement signed by the State Commissioner for information and Communications, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo when he paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Director of Defence Information, Brig. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu at the Armed Forces Complex, Defence Headquarters, Abuja.

It states that the visit was aimed at the strenghtening the cordial relationship between the State and the Armed Forces defense information for supporting the Government to defeat criminality in the State.

“We thank the Armed Forces for contributing “immensely to re-writing the security story of Kogi State”.

“Let me use this opportunity to, on behalf of the Governor and the good people of Kogi State, to say thankyou” He says.

It explains that when the Governor assumed duty in 2016, Kogi was almost lost to crimes and terror but today, the Governor has rejigged the security architecture hence the success in defeating the criminals.

It also states that the success was largely due to the support of the Armed Forces.

“With the right information, our nation can defeat terror and criminality. We will work with you to achieve that”.

On his part, the Acting Director of Defence Information, Brig. General Onyema Nwachukwu commended the Kogi State Government for its commitment to the security of lives and property.

The highlight of the visit was presentation of the Defence Magazine to the Commissioner.
