Kogi Govt Sets Up Special Verification Committee

A three man Special Staff Verification Committee has been set up by the Kogi State Judiciary to ascertain the actual nominal roll and monthly wage bill of Courts in the State.

Inaugurating the Committee in Lokoja, the State Acting Chief Judge, Justice Henry Olusiyi, said the Committee was set up because of the need to reposition the State Judiciary for accurate dispensation of justice.

Justice Olusiyi said other terms of reference of the Committee includes to determine the actual wage bill and staff strength of the Judicial Service Commission, JSC, respectively.

According to him, the Committee should also investigate all letters of appointment issued from June last year till date as well as investigate whether the salary scales adopted in the two establishments are appropriate.

The Acting Chief Judge restated his commitment to staff welfare hence the need for the exercise.

Speaking on behalf of members of the Special Verification Committee, the Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Alhasan promised that the Committee would do a thorough job and solicited the cooperation of all members for a hitch free exercise.

The Committee was given fourteen days to submit its report.
