The Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has promised that his administration will ensure that Health and Education sectors get the needed attention to compete amongst the best in the country.
Governor Bello made this known while receiving a report on the take-off of the College of Medicine at the Confluence University of Technology, Osara and other related matters.
The Governor said the estimated over 2 billion naira indicated in the report to facilitate establishment of the College of Medicine, would be sourced and committed to the cause.
Yahaya Bello who thanked the committee for their service and contributions to the development of the education sector, explained that the committee would become a Standing and Advisory Committee for CUSTECH and would work with the institution’s management for the next one year.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Standing, Advisory Committee , Prof. Mohammad Salihu Audu while presenting the report, expressed gratitude to the State Government for the opportunity to serve, noting that the proposed commencement date for the College of Medicine would be the 2021/2022 Academic calendar.
He advised that implementation of the report commence soonest, especially recruitment for a proper take off.
