Kogi Govt Embarks On Water Project

The Kogi State Government has finalized arrangements for reticulation of potable water from Osara Dam to communities in the central Senatorial district of the State.

The Commissioner for water Resources, Hon Abdulmumuni Danga made this known when he led a delegation of combined technical team from the Federal and the State Government on assessment visit to the Dam to asertian facilities on ground for the takeoff of the project.

A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry , Usman Musa says that the visit became necessary following the approval for the State Government to embark on the provision of water supply from Osara Dam to communities in the district.

It explains that the State had earlier secured permission from the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development for the reticulation of water from the Dam to enable Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration meet the yearnings of the people for potable water supply.

“We have also met with private investors and a technical team to discuss areas of concern and interest with the view for the investor to commence Preliminary work on the project”

It uses the occasion to appreciate the Federal Government for the gesture of allowing the usage of the Dam and also commended Governor Yahaya Bello for embarking on the project.
