Kogi : Five Executive Bills pass through first reading.

Recently, Kogi State Executive Council approved the establishment of Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara to enable the state compete favourably with its counterparts globally.

To give a legal framework to the University, Governor Yahaya Bello forwarded to the State House of Assembly for a law to establish the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara.

The Speaker, Prince Matthew Kolawole while reading the letter of the Governor at plenary said the bill when passed into law would enable the state catch up with the world in the area of Science and Technology.

Also, a bill for a law to provide for the Establishment of the Central Reference Hospital, Okene and other matters connected therewith
has passed through first reading.

The Governor said health was one of the thematic agenda of his administration, hence the bill to establish the hospital.

Others are; a bill for a law to make provision for the Office of the Auditor General of Local Government Areas in Kogi State, Enact the Local Government Audit Law and other matters connected therewith as well as a bill for a law to Repeal and Re-enact the Kogi State Public Procurement Law twenty fourteen establishing the state Council on Public Procurement and the State Bureau of Public Procurement and other matters connected therewith.
