Staff of Kano Electricity Distribution Company, KEDCO have decried non payment of 13 months allowences, selective promotion, disengagement of workers among others
Speaking during a peaceful protest today at the KEDCO headquarters in Kano, some of the staff expressed their grievances carrying placards with inscriptions ‘ pay us our 48 months allowences, say no to selective promotion, we need new equipment in KEDCO among others
Earlier in his remarks the Kano State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress Comrade Ado Minjibir who explained that they were at KEDCO to bring an end to the plight of the workers.
He stressed that, the NLC would work tirelessly in ensuring that workers were treated with respect.
Reacting to the allegations, the Public Relations officer of the Kano Electricity Distribution Company Ibrahim Shawai who pointed out that some of the staff were disengaged due to negligence on duty, explained that the 13 months allowences were being paid in instalments due to the economy.
