The Kano State Government has purchased speed boats for its health workers to enable them access to some riverine Communities especially for Vaccination exercises.
This was made known during the presentation of the boats by the Executive Secretary, Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board, Dr. Tijjani Hussain.
Speaking While presenting the boats, Dr. Hussain said, the State Government deemed it necessary to employ the use of the speed boats so as to enable health workers at the primary level have access to communities surrounded by water.
Dr. Tijjani who was represented by Director, Disease Control and epidemiology, Dr. Sharif Yahaya, said the gesture was geared towards ensuring that such communities were not left out in terms of vaccines and other exercises aimed at preventing out break of diseases.
He noted that considering the rainy season the State, Government decided to provide the boats to ease the activities of health workers in such remote areas.
The executive secretary maintained that the people of Dawakin Kudu and Bagwai were the first to enjoy the boats while efforts were being made to extend the gesture to other areas of the state.
He urged the workers to make judicious use of the boats in carrying out their primary assignments effectively.
