Kano Govt & NCDC Trains Health Workers On Home Based Mgt Of COVID-19

Health workers in Kano have been charged to imbibe the culture of proper disposal of hospitals waste aimed at ensuring that it is not recycled for use again.

A Medical Consultant working with the Department of Internal Medicine, Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Dr Ramalan Yusif gave the charge during a training organized for Health workers in Kano by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, in collaboration with Kano State Government, UNICEF and the UN basket Fund held in Kano.

Dr Ramalan Yusif said the training would go a long way in exposing participants to best practices in home based management of COVID-19 patients.

He noted that home based management was included in the Covid-19 response to avoid overstreching health facilities.

In a remark, UNICEF’s Communications Specialist , Mr Samuel Kalu said the training was part of the tireless efforts of stakeholders to keep health workers abreast of developments in home based management of the Disease.

Fourty Health workers were trained to enhance COVID-19 management geared towards checking the spread of the pandemic.
