The Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria (IPAC) has refuted rumors that its National President Chief Peter Ameh has been arrested alongside the National Legal Adviser and other respected Officers of the Council.

This is contained in a statement by the National Legal Adviser of IPAC, Mr. Chukwudi Ezeobika

The Council urges the general public to disregard the malicious falsehood and cheap blackmail from mischief makers and enemies of democracy.

It adds that at no point and under no circumstance was the President of IPAC, Peter Ameh and the National Legal Adviser, Chukwudi Ezeobika, arrested or detained as claimed.

It states that the unanimous Declaratory Judgement of the Court of Appeal on August 10, 2020, reinstated some political parties of which the Party of Peter Ameh (PPA) as well as that of the National Legal Adviser, Chukwudi Ezeobika, UP, were beneficiaries of the Judgement and remain so registered.

The statement states that the unanimous Declaratory Judgement of the Court of Appeal remains binding on all inferior Courts until it is set aside.

The Council calls on INEC to obey the Court Order and relist the political parties as Ordered.

According to the statement the named Officers of the Council were never arrested nor detained by Officers of the Nigeria Police Force as they are neither in police custody nor ever detained as alleged.

It further says that the Council is however aware of a conspiracy by certain individuals to undermine the Integrity of our Courts and the Nigeria Police Force and the Council shall take the necessary steps to ensure that the sanctity and integrity of our Courts are pro tected.
