The Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria, IPAC, says the unanimous judgment of the Court of Appeal reinstating members is a boost to the nation’s judicial system.
This is contained in a statement signed by President of the Council, Peter Ameh.
It states that following the outcome of the judgement the Council is set to hold its meeting and inaugurate electoral committee for conduct of the Executive
It adds that the Council unanimously passed a Motion disolving the Leonard Ezenwa led interim Committee.
The Council commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for standing with the Council through the years as major Stakeholders in the Country’s electoral Process.
According to the statement, the council commended President of the Appeal Court, Justic Monica Dongban-Mensem for being bold, courageous and fearless in declaring as illegal, unconstitutional and void, the purported deregistration of some political parties by INEC without following laid down procedures with the provisions of Section 225(a) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).
It dedicates the victory to Late Chief Gani Fawehinmi and all Nigerians.
