The Peoples Redemption Party, PRP has called on government to invest more in agriculture to boost the Nation’s Economy.
The National Chairman of the Party, Alhaji Falalu Bello who made the call at a conference in Abuja said agriculture remains the mainstay of the nation’s economy, hence the move would go a long way to reduce youth restiveness and unemployment in the country.
According to Alhaji Falalu “The third question that needs addressing is how to end poverty in the land, and reduce exploitation of the poor.
Agriculture is still the mainstay of the economy and the biggest employer of labour, making agriculture profitable seems to be the only means of pulling the greatest number of the population out of poverty on a sustainable basis.
Alhaji Falalu stressed the need for political office holders to desist from actions detrimental to the overall development of the country.
The National Chairman therefore urged security agencies to come up with proactive measures that would address herders/ farmers clashes in the country.
In his words “Rejig and seriously address the security architecture of the nation to overcome the insecurity that has gripped the country. We have heard Mr. President telling the service Chiefs that they must solve the insecurity problems of the nation before the rains. This order should be communicated to the service chiefs and Inspector General of Police into writing.
