Intelligence Based Operations, Key to Ending Insecurity- Defence HQs

The Military High Command says it is engaging more in intelligence based operations to rid the Country of banditry and other Criminal activities.

The Coordinator, Defence Media Operations Defence Headquarters, Major General John Enenche who stated this during the weekly media briefing in Abuja said enhanced collaboration among security agencies was yielding positive results.

General Enenche who explained that the Armed Forces was intensifying efforts in consolidating its kinetic Operations across the country added that with enhanced intelligence the various security threats would be addressed in no distant time.

He stated that troops of operation Hadarin Daji and its subsidiary operations in the North West carried out several ambushes, aeriel and confidence building patrols which yielded significant successes as many armed bandits were killed, arms and ammunition recovered in Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina and Kaduna States.
The Coordinator pointed out that troops of operation Safe Haven, Whirl Stroke and Hadarin Daji in the North Central zone arrested some suspected gun runners, Kidnapper and gang leader and recovered arms and ammunition.

In the South South zone, General Enenche hinted that troops of Operation Delta Safe and its subsidiary operations arrested suspected pipeline vandals and other Criminals.

He added that the troops also deactivated illegal refineries, recovered products suspected to be Automative Gas Oil as well as about three hundred and fifty three bags of 50kg foreign rice.

The Coordinator further said troops of operation Lafiya Dole and its subsidiary, operation Fire Ball eliminated scores of terrorists, destroyed their structures and facilities.
