INSECURITY : Kalu Cautions S/East Against Repetition Of 1967 Genocide

The Chief Whip of the Senate, and former Governor of Abia state,  Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has called for restraints from the Masterminds of the insecurity in the South East.

Senator kalu in a statement stresses that repetition of the 1967 genocide will not be tolerated .

It says that insecurity in the South East region is strange as Igbos are not known for burning homes to punish enemies. 

According to the statement, the Senate Chief Whip, questions the sense in the  killing of policemen  and military officers , asking the masterminds and perpetrators of the deadly act to desist forthwith.

It notes that there is no wisdom in eliminating those meant to protect them and their families .

The statement urges them to have a rethink in their actions and choose a more rigteous path in expressing their grievances 

According to the former Governor,  the policemen and military officers being killed are  fathers,  mothers, husbands, wives , children and relatives adding that anyone that has lost a close relation knows what it means to lose parents or children. 

The statement charges security agencies to desist from harassment , molestation and killing of innocent young people in the region.

It expresses worry that some security agents have been reported to be killing innocent souls .

The statement reaffirms his call for a national dialogue chaired by the President to douse tensions in the country.
