The International Human Rights Commission, IHRC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons,NAPTIP, towards ending the menace of Trafficking in the country.
This is contained in a statement by the Acting Head Media and Public Relations IHRC, Mr. Emmanuel Kolawole in Abuja.
Speaking during the Occasion, the Country Head IHRC Dr Friday Sani notes that the fight against trafficking is a collective effort by all stakeholders and pledges to activate volunteers all over the world to rise to the occasion of reporting plans to traffic persons or violence against persons.
On his part, the Secretary General IHRC, Professor Rafal Marsin Wasik who joined via Zoom, expresses readiness of the Headquarters of IHRC to come to the aid of NAPTIP to rid Nigeria of the deadly crime against humanity.
In an address, the Director General NAPTIP, Dame Julie Okah-Donli appreciates the IHRC for indicating interest to join the Agency in the fight against trafficking and violence against persons as she assures that NAPTIP under her watch will bring an end to human trafficking.
