The Nigeria Police has dissolved the Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad across the Country .
The Inspector General of Police , Mohammed Adamu stated this at a conference in Abuja.
Mr Adamu explained that all officers and men currently serving in the unit are to be redeployed with immediate effect.
The IGP maintained that new policing arrangements that would address armed robbery and other violent crimes that falls within the mandate of the dissolved Special Anti Robbery Squad would be presented.
Mr Adamu said following reports of crimes committed against citizens by SARS, an investigation team would be constituted which will include civil society organisations for transparency, and culprits punished.
