The Interfaith Dialogue Forum for Peace wants the Federal Government to give maximum support and ensure full implementation of the recommendations of the Judicial Panel of Inquiry investigating complaints of police brutality and extra judicial killings to douse the tension in the Country.
The Co- Chairman of the Forum, Bishop Sunday Onuoha made the call while addressing newsmen at the end of the forum’s emergency meeting in Abuja.
Bishop Onuoha who stressed that the organisation condemned the killings and wanton destruction of public and private property in the recent EndSars protests in some parts of the Country appealed to the youths to embrace dialogue and avoid being used to distrupt peace and unity of the Country.
While calling on religious leaders to promote peace, Bishop Onuoha stressed the need for the youths to give Government some time to meet thier demands and also embrace all empowerment initiatives introduced to address unemployment.
Also Speaking, another Co-chairman, Alhaji Kunle Sani- Ishaq emphasized the need for Nigerians to stop attacking police personnel and thier property as they were performing the critical role of securing lives and property.
Alhaji Sani- Ishaq urged the media to be patriotic in disseminating information that would promote peace and national development.
