HOR To Investigate Alleged Irregularities In IPPIS

The House of Representatives is to investigate alleged fraud and irregularities in the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System, IPPIS, which led to the none payment of salaries and allowances of some Federal Civil Servants.

The Public Accounts Committee of the House, chaired by Oluwole Oke initiated the inquest in the course of engaging tertiary institutions and other agencies on their financial audit reports for 2018-2019.

The lawmakers expressed shock that leakages and sharp practices were observed in the course of their engagement with these agencies, with particular reference to the J.S. Tarkar University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Benue State and the Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State.

In his submission, the Rector of Auchi polytechnic, Dr Zubiar Mustapha explained that the pending salaries for the years under review, were due to anomalies in the IPPIS..

The Committee, thereafter resolved to write the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Zainab Ahmad and the Accountant General of the Federation, to explain the alleged sleaze, in the Federal staff payment system.
