The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, says the house will continue to articulate strategic legal framework to harness National Potential for economic growth and sustainability.
He stated this at a one day public hearing on the need for Nigeria to develop long term social and economic development framework vision in Abuja.
The speaker, who was represented by the Deputy Minority Leader of the House, Toby Okechukwu, emphasized the need for a long term plan for Nigeria to overcome the effects of global economic challenges posed by the Covid-19 Pandemic.
In a remark the Chairman, House Committee on National planning, AbdulGaniyu Oladodo said the bills under consideration would prepare Nigeria for economic prosperity.
In his submission the Minister of State, National Planning, Mr Clem Agba explained that government through the ministry had already drawn a framework for Nigeria’s post oil economic growth that would give priority to agriculture in line with its diversification policy.
Stakeholders at the event stressed the need to review the nation’s education system as well as providing a comprehensive man power plan, to drive implementation of the proposed National Development Plan.
