HOR calls for Rapid Development of Satelite Towns In FCT

The House Committee on FCT has urged authorities of the Federal Capital Territory to develop the Satellite Towns which are fast deteriorating .

The Deputy Chairperson of the Committee, Blessing Onuh from Benue State made the call at the 2021 budget defence of the FCTA.

The lawmaker also decried many shanties that have now taken over most parts of the territory, describing them as haven for criminals.

Responding, The Minister of FCT, Muhammad Bello who called for more funding to enable the FCTA meet the increasing demands in the Territory said plans are underway to ensure rapid infrastructural development of the nation’s capital.

He further explained that despite the challenges posed by COVID19 pandemic seventy three percent of the 2020 budget has been released and sixty nine percent expended.

The committee however resolved to go through the 2021 budget estimates before approval is given.
