Guests on the Kapital Fm Day break show, a current affairs program have called for the review of the nation’s constitution to reflect the needs of the citizenry.
One of the guests, Dr Jennings Okey Ekeayanwu gave the advice, while reacting to the call by Nigerians for a national dialogue, as the country marks Democracy Day.
He explained that a common ground has to be reached in addressing issues and also ensure that such agreement was captured in the nation’s constitution.
Another guest, Dr Muktar Imam a lecturer in the department of international relations and diplomacy, Baze University, Abuja, who said the president’s democracy speech was commendable, stressed the need for an honest national conversation to address the challenges of restructuring to the point of implementation.
Some callers on the programme also supported calls for National dialogue as the solution to different agitations in Nigeria which they said should begin with the lawmakers.
