The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has closed his defense in the case of alleged certificate forgery instituted by the All Progressives Congress, APC and a party chieftain, Edobor Williams at the Federal High Court, Abuja .
At the resumed hearing of the suit, the defence counsel concluded the case with the testimony of their third witness, Prof Eghosa Osaghae of the Department of Comparative Politics, university of Ibadan.
The certified true copy of the witness’ Political Science certificate issued by the University of Ibadan in 1979 was admitted as exhibit by the court.
With the case having reached its climax, Justice Ahmed Mohammed prevailed on all parties in the matter to present their final addresses orally due to time constraints.
Following that submission, all parties in the suit agreed to file and exchange final addresses in electronic copies with the matter adjourned till Thursday 7th January for adoption of written addresses.
Speaking to newsmen, Counsel to the APC, Cheif Akin Olujimi and that of Obaseki, Ken Mozia, both expressed confidence that the judgment would be favourable.
The APC had presented six witnesses during hearing of the suit.
