Nasarawa State Government has lauded the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, for fostering national unity and spirit of patriotism among youths.
The Governor gave the commendation at a three day workshop organized by the NYSC in Karu Local Government Area of the state.
Represented by the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Othman Bala Adam, Governor Sule described the workshop as timely and instructive, adding that it would go a long way in complementing government’s effort towards containing the spread of Coronavirus in NYSC camps across the country.
Governor Abdullahi Sule also assured the scheme of government’s continued support to enable it achieve set objectives in the state at all times.
Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier-General Shuaibu Ibrahim, explained that the workshop is aimed at reviewing previous orientation courses with a view to improving staff performance in subsequent exercises across the country.
He thanked the government and people of Nasarawa State for always supporting the scheme to deliver on its mandate, stressing that the NYSC would continue to comply with all COVID 19 precautionary measures in all orientation courses across the country.
Nasarawa State co-ordinator of the scheme, Mr Stephen Dewan who thanked the NYSC for hosting the three day workshop, informed guests and participants that the NYSC is fortunate to have the unflinching support of the state government as and when due.
The three day workshop was attended by State Co-ordinators, Camp Directors, and other Management Staff of the National Youth Service Corps .
